I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) supervised by Kim Fry LMFT-S in the state of Texas. I have a BA in Psychology and M.Ed. in Counseling and Human Development.
Many of my clients are:
young adults 18-35 who are in the constant cycle of high function then freeze, always questioning if they are making the right choices, reacting instead of responding and then regretting it later, feels overstimulated, anxiety, and/or depression.
teens who are disengaged, experiencing highs and lows, struggling with self harm, and/or low self esteem, increased irritability with little control, struggling to maintain relationships.
couples that are struggling to overcome communication barriers, resentment, trust, and a loss of connection.
Many of my clients are struggling to remain present in situations and respond vs reacting from their heightened feelings. Many are working towards accepting the thoughts and emotions but controlling their behaviors. My clients are learning how to value themselves and feel confident communicating their needs/wants or making decisions on their own without questioning themselves.
Systemically, I view things relationally, and how the dynamics of these relationships (self & others) and areas of life are impacting us. I typically examine all present/historical patterns within our lives and how they impact our ability to maintain the day-to-day. I validate BUT challenge my clients to do the work needed to create LASTING CHANGE.
I prioritize taking an eclectic approach by utilizing different therapeutic interventions to meet YOUR needs, no one person is the same. However, I favor a combination of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(DBT) and Internal Family Systems(IFS). You can read more about these approaches on the “what to expect” page!

Hello! My name is Tiana Howard. Life can be a struggle and when you’re in the thick of it you need someone to turn to. I am that person for my clients! While the time during the session is yours, I will strive to meet you where you are and be a support person on your journey.
I have a BS in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University and an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Tarleton State University. I utilize Mindfulness-Based therapy and am certified in both Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I consider my approach to mirror CBT techniques but with a holistic twist. I have been practicing for four years, working with all populations/genders. My experience with higher levels of care and group therapy supports my specialization with adolescents and young adults.
My clients are experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem/confidence, negative self-talk, trauma-based triggers, and emotional disturbances. I'm effective with young adults, specifically male adults, and minority groups. The couples that I work with are experiencing the disconnection of day-to-day struggles, broken trust/infidelity, and fractured communication.
I strongly believe in the effectiveness of therapy, but recognize the challenge when you don’t find a good fit. I value a strong therapeutic relationship that can support your goals and promote growth within yourself!
